Compliance Officer (AML/KYC)

Location: Bucharest
Job Summary: we are looking for a Compliance Officer to ensure that the company operates in full compliance with national and international regulations in the fields of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT), Know Your Customer (KYC) and Data Protection (GDPR).
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring company - wide compliance with AML/KYC policies;
- Reviewing client documentation and performing KYC/EDD checks;
- Coordinating reporting activities to ONPCSB and ONJN (suspicious transaction reports, thresholds, risk self-assessments);
- Drafting and updating internal procedures in line with legislative changes;
- Organizing internal AML and compliance training sessions;
- Conducting risk analysis and proposing corrective measures;
- Supporting operational teams in the implementation of compliance regulations.
Requirements & Competencies:
- University degree in Law;
- Certifications in compliance, AML or KYC are an asset;
- Previous experience in a compliance - related role, preferably within the financial services industry;
- Experience in drafting and reviewing internal compliance and AML/KYC policies;
- In-depth knowledge of national and EU legislation relating to: Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT); Know Your Customer (KYC); General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); Reporting obligations to ONPCSB and ONJN;
- Proficient in the use of digital compliance tools and reporting platforms;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, including the ability to draft reports and procedures;
- Ability to conduct internal investigations and provide recommendations;
- Ability to deliver internal training sessions and promote a compliance culture within the organization;
- Analytical, logical and structured thinking;
- Initiative, proactiveness and decision-making ability;
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
